Who We Are

About Us:

Southern Oregon Living and Dying Alliance is a group of committed community members who see a need for people to be informed about their choices concerning living, dying, grieving and the after-death experience. Our steering committee is composed of professional, accomplished individuals ranging in age from the early 30's  into the 80's, who have worked in a variety of fields related to the group's mission.

Our Steering Committee

  • Tressi Albee, MA, MA, LPC

    Tressi Albee, MA, MA, LPC is a long time Williams resident who provides end-of-life care to individuals and families as a depth psychotherapist and yoga therapist.

  • Kate Clark, RN

    Kate Clark, RN, is a hospice nurse and end-of-life doula dedicated to honoring a death-positive experience and resides in Williams.

  • Angela Franklin

    Angela Franklin is currently an Older Adult Behavioral Health Specialist and Suicide Prevention Coordinator for Josephine County. She lives in Takilma and serves on the Board of Directors for Southern Oregon Guild of Artists and Artisans, Illinois Valley Living Solutions and Illinois Valley Wellness Resources. She is a founder of Crossroads Community DeathCare.

  • Megan Marie Frost, MD

    Megan Marie Frost, MD, is a general surgeon at Asante Hospital in Grants Pass, holds a Masters in Public Health, is a Death with Dignity prescriber and a co-founder of the Rogue Valley Psychedelic Society.

  • Hayriya Heidi Hansen

    Hayriya is the owner of Compassionate Care of Choice. She serves as a death doula, consultant and educator in Southern Oregon, and is an accredited member of the National End-of-Life Doula Alliance ( NEDA). Hayriya is the driving force behind the creation of SOLADA.

  • Karmykal Jensen

    Karmykal Jensen, a resident of Merlin, holds a graduate degree in mortuary science, served as a funeral director and is a green burial consultant specializing in natural, organic reduction.

  • Dave Levine

    Dave Levine has a BA in philosophy, was the Administrative Director for the Klamath-Siskiyou Wildlands Center (KS Wild), a local nonprofit environmental group, and is a long time resident of Williams. Dave is currently serving as the administrator for SOLADA.

  • Evelyn Roether

    Evelyn Roether has an MS in Environmental Education and is a lifelong activist. She has worked for, volunteered with, and served on the boards of many local non-profit organizations. Evelyn is also an author and grant writer. She hopes to age and die at home and help facilitate that option for others. Evelyn has lived in Williams for 35 years.

  • Jack Shipley

    Jack Shipley is a founding and current board member of Green Leaf Industries, the Applegate Partnership, the Watershed Council, and was a founding board member of the Greater Applegate Community Development Corporation. Throughout a long and productive life, Jack has served on a wide variety of environmental and community organizations. He is a truffle farmer, tree farmer and world traveler currently living in the Applegate Valley.
